Transportation Scholars Program (TSP)

TSP will provide financial benefits, including tuition and fees. For students that already have a research assistantship, the program pays a research assistantship enhancement, as well as travel expenses to attend TRB or other transportation infrastructure-related organization. These incentives have attracted top students to the transportation program and have helped to contribute to the diversity of the profession. The target goal is to support up to three students per year.

Travel Funding Assistance for TRB

Assistance to attend TRB is provided to students who author or co-author and present a peer-reviewed TRB paper. This practice promotes active student involvement in TRB through paper development and presentation, and helps to improve students’ research and communication skills. This approach is effective—over a five-year period under one of TTI’s previous UTCs, 89 TAMU students qualified and presented their papers at TRB, and this program will continue this tradition. The program also provides students opportunities to network with peers from other institutions and make contacts with potential employers. The target goal is to each year support up to 10 graduate students by providing $1500 toward their TRB travel expenses.
