Welcome to the National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT).
As Director, I am proud to lead our national effort to modernize and improve the United States transportation infrastructure. Every day, our team is focused on a clear goal: developing strong, flexible, and efficient systems that meet the evolving needs of communities across the country.
At NCIT, we work across the full spectrum of transportation modes—highways, railways, airports, and urban transit networks. Our research and implementation efforts are designed to support safer, longer‑lasting infrastructure and to enhance mobility, reliability, and economic opportunity for the traveling public.
Collaboration is central to everything we do. NCIT partners with federal, state, and local agencies, industry leaders, and universities to advance practical, data‑driven solutions. This means applying advanced transportation infrastructure technologies, improving materials and design practices, and helping to build a highly skilled transportation workforce capable of meeting current and future challenges.
We are developing tools, best practices, and training programs that agencies and practitioners can use to strengthen infrastructure performance nationwide. By bringing together engineers, planners, researchers, and public‑sector leaders, NCIT supports evidence‑based decision‑making and encourages innovation in transportation planning, design, construction, and asset management.
Our students are integral to this mission. Through research assistantships, internships, and hands‑on laboratory and field experiences, they work side‑by‑side with faculty and partners to solve real transportation infrastructure problems. Their projects have already contributed to advances in materials, asset monitoring, and data analytics, and many graduates now serve in key roles in transportation agencies and industry. Supporting student success and expanding opportunities for the next generation of transportation professionals is one of NCIT’s most important achievements—and a cornerstone of our vision for the future.
My commitment as Director is to ensure that NCIT’s work benefits communities of all sizes—urban, suburban, and rural—and supports a safe, reliable, and modern transportation system for the nation.
