Highway Construction Workforce Partnership (HWCP)
TTI and BCD are currently developing the HWCP Program targeted at providing rural low-income students an opportunity to acquire 15-weeks of highway construction training. Industry, TXAPA and its members, is helping develop the curriculum and will potentially offer industry certifications as part of the class. The program is scheduled to begin in January 2023. NCIT will expand and enhance this program through:
• Identifying ways to implement the HWCP in other states.
• Offsetting the cost of students attending the current HWCP.
• Offsetting the teaching cost to deliver the HWCP.
• Identifying avenues to transition from the HWCP to an AAS.
• Developing and marketing an AAS in highway technology offered by BCD.
